Interview with Howard Bloom Where He Talks Extensively About Severe ME Viewed Over 500000 Times in 1st Day

wow, never heard of Howard Bloom before but amazing story; only caught some of his 'cocktail', oxytocin, magnesium, amytriptaline...?

eta: from wiki
"Oxytocin is also thought to modulate inflammation by decreasing certain cytokines."

eta2:
"I take 30 pills. It’s a lot of pills, but remember, I thought I’d be in a bedroom for the rest of my life. Over the course of a long time, I accumulated a list of these 30 drugs that worked and this one injection that works"

B12 by injection also gabapentin

Obviously money not an issue to him. I wonder if anyone else is taking oxytocin and if it is on researchers radar?

Edit. Anyone like me who knows nothing about oxytocin other than role in mother baby bonding might find this article interesting https://www.selfhacked.com/blog/the-social-chilled-out-and-empathetic-genes-oxytocin-receptor-snps/

I take oxytocin. In fact, I'm on pretty much everything he took (magnesium, B12, amitriptyline). Funnily enough, I've also done a lot of my writing lying down!

Maybe I should try sleeping in two shifts again. I used to do that. I'd wake up early, get some work done, then sleep a few more hours. It meant I went to bed very late (4-5am), but I was well rested. The only thing stopping me from doing this is that my partner lives 6am-9pm, so we'd have completely separate lives.

He seems like the sot of guy who would like to be part of activism against ME discrimination...And he seems a great example of severe case. I just watched another interview he did in 2013 where he talks about taking several months to begin to be able to talk or sit up in bed only to crash from the slightest exertion back to have to lie flat unable to talk for several more months.

I listen to Rogan's podcast often when there's a philosophical/political/scientific guest. It would be great to get somebody on his show to talk specifically about the disease from a scientific perspective.
Unfortunately, while I believe Bloom's account of his illness, he comes across as not very believable, what with the hundreds of pushups.

Why do people in the thread (@Sid, and those who liked the comment) not think that this is a good interview?

I’m personally on the fence, as I think his comments about CFS are basically fine...but that he says some rubbish about other topics that makes him a bit of an unreliable narrator.

Check out the comments under the Youtube video to get a sense of how he came across to the uninformed.

Not very well. The only thing I found really strange was his claim he could do so many push-ups. His books claim he inadvertently started drug culture, so I'd expect his life to be otherwise very 'out-there'.
