Abstract
The modern woman has taken her rightful place in society as a worker, a caregiver, a mother, and a world citizen. However, along with the privileges of these roles comes the great cost of stress and resultant exhaustion and fatigue. Psychosocial, physical, cultural, and disease-related realms of stress act as strands of a web that serve to bind and hinder women with chronic stress. New areas of research, such as exercise intervention, improved social programs (e.g., childcare), and supplementation are constantly evaluated for effectiveness alongside traditional remedies such as exercise. This review will highlight some of the key issues regarding stress in women and explore reports of new treatment modalities in light of the specific requirements of the modern woman.

Somehow, before I clicked this, I already knew the author was male.

 

I am speechless..

 

The first words of the abstract really don't make it any better.

 

Are we sure the publication date is right? ... not 1921?

 

Who the f' thinks it's OK to write condescending sh1t like this any more! Other than this author of course, who clearly thinks it's OK.

Still, at least it obviates the need to read any further.

 

"Oh my stahs, I do believe I feel a faint coming on." (dramatic hand to forehead followed by delicate slump onto fainting couch conveniently at hand)

But seriously - where has this person been all their life that they can come up with such ridiculous drivel?

How will the poor fragile things possibly survive without a big strong man to take care of them? Who even will buy them their fainting couch?

simple fact of life stress is a motivator is always present in some form or our species would of died out long ago .

 

Still doesn’t quite get it, still don’t have privileges of these roles, still don’t quite understand we are not males with annoying health defects, Stress is universal. Patriarchal pontification pff.

 

With such an introduction the author was probably expecting universal gratitude from "modern women" everywhere, and will be baffled by any other reaction. Sheesh, there's no pleasing the ladies, right? Try to understand and help them and what do you get in return? It's enough to make a chap go back to studying phrenology.
