Blimey, he looked rough in that clip.

 

I didn't open any of the links but he might be right, if a doctor makes you worse you won't volunteer for more harm, hence on paper it looks like you needed less treatment. Not exactly a worthy goal, harm patients into staying away from medicine but spin seems to fix anything

 

If you were scientifically inclined would you not wish to know how those who did not participate in the follow up were sit between the four groups. Perhaps that is addressed elsewhere, but it was not obvious I the article.
