Thanks for replying @EspeMor, and hear you they were fully briefed but unfortunately you didn’t answer my straightforward question of were they briefed about this actual online course? Sorry it’s not a massive issue - there was some good content in the briefing I read - but it would be nice to get a direct answer!

I'm sure I asked here whether the charities were doing anything on this, but I can't find my post [ETA - it wasn't here - it was on Twitter! - I really am losing it!].

Anyway - I've just listened to the ME Show S2 ep1 and got my answer:
Dr Nina Muirhead is producing med ed module for med students at Cardiff.
MEA January questionnaire is also collecting info on what GPs need to know.

It would make sense if they produced an e-learning module to go alongside their Purple Book. Hopefully that's what they are doing.

    Hi again,

Yes, they were briefed on this, either by us, constituents or other charities. We targeted MPs based on their level of support to ME (high, medium, low, no support, etc, what type of support -EDMs, previous debates, etc) and hence, tailored our messages to them based on their previous knowledge as well! ;)

    Cheers,

    Espe

RCGPs is linked/affiliated?, 'allied' to the RCP?

The Academy of medical Royal Colleges (the Academy)
    http://www.aomrc.org.uk/
    Who we are
The Academy of medical Royal Colleges (the Academy) is the coordinating body for the UK and Ireland’s 24 medical Royal Colleges and Faculties. We ensure that patients are safely and properly cared for by setting standards for the way doctors are educated, trained and monitored throughout their careers.

Healthcare is complex and increasingly there are issues where a cross-specialty perspective is needed. It’s our job to ensure this work is done effectively and then acted upon by policy makers, regulators and clinicians.

    What we do
The Academy’s role is essentially one of coordination between its member colleges and faculties to help ensure consistency across all the specialities. While there are many official bodies which have oversight over patient care and the way doctors treat patients, the Academy too plays a crucial role in making sure that these standards are maintained and we all get the healthcare we deserve.

Our activities concentrate primarily on producing policy and recommendations to inform healthcare. Much of this work is delivered by the Academy’s long standing committees or through working groups and independent short-life projects.
