Post-Exertional Malaise: Identifying, Understanding and Preventing
Description
Post-exertional malaise (PEM) is the hallmark clinical feature of ME/CFS. The webinar will present research that advances our understanding of this important complex of symptoms and introduce a timecourse for its manifestation. We will provide tools to help identify and prevent PEM across the spectrum of illness from mild to severe impairment. We will also provide resources and educational materials for caregivers and health care providers.
For this webinar, we will be joined by three of Workwell Foundation’s exercise physiologists who provide expertise to support a diagnosis, functional assessments, and treatment in the areas of ME, CFS, Fibromyalgia and other fatigue-related illnesses. Joining us will be Staci Stevens, Todd Davenport and Mark VanNess. They work with doctors and attorneys to provide documentation that can assist patients in obtaining disability benefits. You can read their bio's at http://workwellfoundation.org/our-team/
