End of the road for Toews? Blackhawks captain seriously considering retirement, sources say.

Toews, who hasn't played since Jan. 28 at Edmonton, said in a statement on Feb. 19 that he is dealing with long-COVID symptoms as well as Chronic Immune Response Syndrome. The Blackhawks captain missed the entire 2020-21 season due to both illnesses.

Ian Sample hears from Scotland’s Astronomer Royal Catherine Heymans about her experience of long Covid and how it has impacted her life. He also speaks to Professor Danny Altmann, an immunologist at Imperial College London, about the current scientific understanding of the condition, and whether we’re any closer to a treatment.

Simon Décary just announced on Twitter that he has tested positive:

It finally entered our household for the first time. Maintaining strict rules and masks allowed me to get to this point. I am extremely privileged for my awesome team that will take over most of my activities so that I can Stop-Rest-Pace and reduce my risk of LC. No exercise.

Former Guess Who drummer on life support, family calls for return to mask requirements at health-care centres.

Last month, Vance Masters was at home, on a treadmill, exercising in preparation for his first evening out since the pandemic began.

Now, the 77-year-old internationally recognized musician is on life support in an intensive care unit, after contracting COVID-19 inside a health-care centre.

Update on what I'm going to now call long COVID symptoms- as it's been 3.5 months since my infection - so am well past the acute stage now. For those who've been following- I've been struggling with breathlessness, chest pain and brain fog post-COVID

Recent update from Dianna Cowern (Physics Girl on YouTube)

"It’s been nearly 5 months of being completely bedridden. I’ve made very little progress. I can still barely move, or think or talk. I want to be out in the world living a life. My body hurts. But my heart hurts more. I wish I had a more positive update."

Plagued by a lack of energy, Robbie Williams turns out not to be good enough at Pinkpop on Saturday night to deliver a full concert. With the help of his band and his fans, the British singer struggles to the end in Landgraaf.

After just 3 songs, Robbie Williams leans on his knees for support. The band has just started the 4th song, but he tells them to stop. "I'm fucked," he says out of breath. With a boyish look at the audience: "It's Long Covid. Not my age, you bastards!"

Many years ago, he said he had an illness like CFS. At one stage it was attributed to hepatitis B or C (C, I think).

Apparently, nearly 50-year-old Robbie Williams' breather between songs on a German date during his world tour is PEM! (He went from the Netherlands to the Isle of Wight the following day and played 'one of the gigs of his life' that evening).

EDIT: Perhaps my post isn't clear. This isn't PEM, and it's dangerous to label it as such.

Hopefully celebrities will provide the leadership needed to address systemic failure in health care for this discriminated and misrepresented condition

So much for lessons learned from the AIDS crisis. Hope is not a strategy. A strategy, implemented, is what brings hope.

Hello: Andrea McLean gives health update on 'debilitating' condition
The former Loose Women star shared her difficult experience in a new interview.

Andrea went on: "People say 'Oh I'm exhausted', but what I've experienced defies the definition of tired. I'd no energy - it's really hard to feel energised.

The 53-year-old said that she had been ill for around six months, which she described as a "rough" time after she caught Covid and then was "absolutely throttled" by flu in December, with doctors testing her for lupus before diagnosing her with long Covid.

Last year, for example, she appeared on Vogue Williams' podcast Taboo Talk, where she spoke openly about going through the menopause following a hysterectomy after suffering with endometriosis for her whole life.

Jonas Hellberg, a well-known athletic trainer working in professional soccer in Sweden, has sadly passed away at the age of 53. He talked openly about living with long covid in several interviews. Cause of death has not been made public.

Model Dies By Assisted Suicide After Battling With Covid-19 Booster Injuries
https://www.eviemagazine.com/post/model-dies-by-assisted-suicide-battling-covid-19-booster-injuries

Last year, an actress and model named Katerina Pavelek got the booster shot. She struggled with a neurological illness that remained incurable. Feeling that there was no other way to end her suffering, Pavelek opted for assisted suicide in a Swiss clinic.

She was so clear that it was the booster shot that caused her to have ME/CFS. " I was diagnost with [an] untreatable chronic neurological illness ME/CFS caused by booster jab on top of having suspected respiratory ALS."

She wrote more about the vaccines and vaccine injury which the magazine (Evie) has expanded on.

"These vaccine injuries seem to be growing in number. One of Pavelek's Instagram highlights on her account displays a series of vaccine-injured individuals and their horrifying experiences with the side effects. Despite the many posts she shared that seem to prove just how common these injuries are, the CDC still maintains that vaccines are "safe and effective" and that negative side effects are "rare." The same agency that swears to protect people and improve their health appears to have done the opposite."
