Part of the 'Unrest' campaign.

For US folks, a call to the NIH to fund ME/CFS research equally and fairly:

For everyone, 'We call on every government in the world to formally recognize ME and sufficiently fund research at the levels needed to treat and, ultimately, find a cure.'

Pile on, folks! Both currently about 1200 signatures.

Done. And will share, but could anyone please tell me if this is a brand new petition or has it been going on for a while? I don't recall having heard about it before..

It's a new one on me, which is why I posted it. And it has quite low numbers for a thing pushed out by the Unrest team, which suggests it hasn't been going long.

...just had a quick look on meaction.net and they seem to be the same ones as on there (I think they're linked because they're showing the same totals). They're both about a month old.

Thanks, @Sasha Let's get those numbers up!

Good point. And that sentence appears in the Global petition in a context that suggests that it applies to the worldwide population. In which case it is of the order of $1 of annual medical costs and lost productivity per person with ME.

From the petition:

This is far too low isn't it? If there are 1 million sufferers in the US that's only $20 each per year.

I wonder if that should be 'billion'?

Worth contacting #MEA with these good points? (Sorry I am unable.)

I've sent a message to the Unrest team about the estimated annual medical costs and lost productivity, using the Contact facility on the website.

I don't think the MEA is the right organisation to contact.

Good idea to contact the Unrest team! (I meant #MEAction rather than the ME Association, but either way, the Unrest team is the better choice. :))
