Help how to work out estimate for PWME in my region?

    hi I’m sure I can get overall population for my city and region can anyone point me to what the % figure is that gives around 250k PWME in the UK. This could be useful on Sunday.

    The 250 K figure has been around for ages, certainly since my daughter became ill in 2010.

    Still, if it is c 0.4%, then a current population of 66.04 million, only gives 264,360.

    Maybe we could say at least 250k or stress that record-keeping is abysmal...

    It’s for general public audience so it’s only needing to be a sensibly worked out round number so I can relate it to the 250k which is what MEAction have on the A5 UK information leaflet.

    Ok so it’s around 18,000 for the East Midlands based on the population figure of 4.5 million quoted on Wikipedia which is good enough for these purposes

    But how have you defined East Midlands? I mean is Rutland included or North lincs? If you go by tv region you may also have to include North Cambridgeshire (they tend to get forgotten by ‘Anglian’ people)

    As I understand it the figure is based on the regional boundaries defined by central government.
