David Tuller's new crowdfunding campaign (April 1, 2018)

@Sunshine3 I was wondering the same thing.

Maybe the donation was made directly to Berkely (it's a large sum!), and so they registered it manually? Or it's the anonymous one from four hours ago, but they waited to double check because of the size and that's why it didn't show up until an hour ago. It is pointless to speculate of course, but if I'm honest, this is the most excitement I've had in weeks:P

I have been waiting for a "matching" opportunity to make a second donation -- together with a contribution from Mr. MsUnderstood. Done! Thanks, Erica Verillo.

Congratulations, @dave30th , for reaching your goal. Also, many thanks to the generous Anonymous donor who pushed the total over the top. I sincerely hope those who were intending to make a second, or third, donation still do so.

For Canadian donors to @dave30th 's crowdfunding project , I just learned that the University of California, Berkeley, is recognized as a tax-exempt organization by Revenue Canada. This means our donations are eligible for the charitable donation tax credit -- not that it makes much of a difference to our income tax bill! But, every little bit counts.

Now thats interesting, i had asked about this from OMF and was told they were looking into registering but never heard back again.
But how does this work, do they send us a tax receipt and is it just if we donate to the University or does this crowdfunding count?
Any info @dave30th

Hi @Alvin , I received two emails after both donations -- a Thank You, and an Order Confirmation. The Thank You included the information regarding Canadian charitable tax eligibility, and the Order Confirmation included a Tax Receipt (which I ignored the first time). This time I actually read both emails.
