yes it's started. I really dislike having to raise money this way but, well, there it is...not much choice.

Best money I've ever spent. It shouldn't have to be this way but to have you helping us is an honor and worth every penny. I'll make my donation in Michael Sharpe's name. He'll love it (but I won't tell him because he blocked me anyway, unless he reads the forum...).

At some point, and maybe we're already there, it will be worth putting this to video. It reaches much more people and it's become surprisingly cheap. Lots of good teams out there who can produce great documentary from a script and reference material. I'd put in some funds for that.

Please don't feel bad, your doing so much for us and we owe you.
If i could afford to fund you myself full time i would be doing so.
I saved up some extra cash for this year in anticipation of your drive

Am i remembering correctly that there is a problem on Berkeley's end if you do this or am i thinking of some other crowdfunding somewhere else (i get wires crossed sometimes).

the problem was people making up fake names that were actually quite funny but could be perceived as offensive by the parties being teased. But it also complicated Berkeley's effort to keep track of who was donating.

    I see
Could a second optional line be added by Berkeley, so people could donate in memory of or in lieu of?
I seem to recall people donating to Planned Parenthood crediting Mike Pence, as a form of protest against attempting to take away their rights.

I think there's a place for comments, isn't there? I've tried to make suggestions to the Berkeley platform folks but it's hard because really they're optimizing it for projects that mostly have more to do with stuff happening on campus. My effort is a bit unusual among the group.

Thank you so much for giving us another year of your wonderful investigative work. Again, I wish Berkeley would take PayPal, as it's the only way I can donate. They could really bring in a lot more from those in the same situation if they can add that option.
Pretty please, Berkeley? With sugar on top? :emoji_doughnut:

Great news and so much appreciated. You’ve done an amazing job. its a shame there are so few health/science- journalists of your capacity and integrity @dave30th.

Your work is so important in the moment of time, fighting the pseudoscience windmills of hell. I have no doubt in my mind that in hindsight, when these windmills finally stop, your contributions will be considered legendary.

Don't think of it that way.
The ME community want you to continue, that's all there is to it.

When you think of how much a certain charity CEO is paid, and (although MS doesn't see the comparison) how much QMUL spent to prevent the release of the PACE data........

Done. Thanks for all you do for us @dave30th

I shudder to think how much farther from hope we'd be without your work.

Is there going to be the same thing as before where the donations were multiplied if given in the last three days?

Please don't feel bad asking for money. From my perspective, giving feels like i get to play my wee part in what's going on to try and change things for the better. Thank you for letting us be part of this. Plus you give us hope and often make me smile.

That's what I meant :) Should have said in his honor. I think there is a field for a short message, but I may be mixing up with the OMF form.
