The autonomic reflex screen (ARS) has been established as an important clinical tool in the evaluation and diagnosis of autonomic disorders ( Low, 2003 )...
Introduction: During a standard 70-degree head-up tilt test, 90% of adults with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) develop an abnormal reduction in cerebral blood flow (CBF). A 70-degree test might not be tolerated by young ME/CFS patients because of the high incidence...
Abstract
Background: Cerebral hypoperfusion before syncope has been shown in patients with chronic orthostatic intolerance (OI) without tachycardia, but it is unknown if an initial decrease of cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFv) could be related to the vasovagal response (VVR) to head-up tilt...
Abstract
Background: Patients with PASC often report symptoms of orthostatic intolerance and autonomic dysfunction. Numerous case reports link Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) to PASC. No prospective analysis has been performed.
Objective: We performed head-up tilt table (HUTT)...
Abstract
Background and objectives: Orthostatic intolerance (OI) is a clinical condition in which symptoms worsen upon assuming and maintaining upright posture and are ameliorated by recumbency. OI has a high prevalence in patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome...

Comparison of the Active Sitting Test and Head-Up Tilt Test for Diagnosis of Postural Tachycardia Syndrome in Children and Adolescents

Objectives: We aimed to compare the hemodynamic responses to the active sitting test...
Highlights
•
Cerebral blood flow in ME/CFS patients remains abnormal 5 minutes post-tilt test.
•
Post cerebral blood flow abnormalities do not depend on hemodynamic results and on end-tidal carbon dioxide pressures during the tilt-test.
•
Post cerebral blood flow abnormalities are most severe...
Abstract
Key points
The impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection on autonomic and cardiovascular function in otherwise healthy individuals is unknown.
We show for the first time that young adults recovering from SARS-CoV-2 have elevated resting sympathetic activity, but similar heart rate and blood...

My take away from this: patients with hypocapnic cerebral hypoperfusion present the same symptoms as patients with POTS but can fail a tilt test due to absence of tachycardia.
ME/CFS is also mentioned.

From the Stakeholders meeting of NICE:-
So, my experience from 2017.
I asked my GP to refer me for a tilt table test as I have had varying symptoms when standing, climbing stairs, any uphill walk (not exactly hills, you understand, but we do live on a slope and I do walk a slow dog and...
