What are the best UK charities for ME?

My birthday is coming up and I'm wondering what you lot think the best charity would be to ask my loved ones to donate to - the ME association?

Preferably one that funds biomed research.

 

That's kind of like asking what is the best flavour of ice cream, there are many different, and conflicting, answers.

Without commenting on 'what's the best organisation' - orgs each set the own priorities and it's a matter whether each of us as individuals share those priorities or not - the two UK orgs to consistently put charitable funds into biomed research are:

Other orgs of course might concentrate on leveraging public or other sources of finance for research, rather than raising funds themselves.

 

Incase anyone stumbles upon this in 2024 or later, the ME Association has had significant controversies recently and I wouldn’t recommend donating at this time.
