Wesselys Mental Health review could also replace Mental Capacity Act

    'In fact mental illness is increasingly present in patients of general hospitals as part of multimorbidity (the presence of multiple medical and psychiatric disorders in the same patient)' Prof Michael Sharpe.


    Problem is that Professor Sharpe and his colleagues, and Jon Stone, Alan Carson etc, and increasing numbers of other diverse Health Care Professionals see Multimorbidity where there isn't any.

    Is the recognition of multimorbity not an advance in the field - for example understanding addiction in an individual as a separate health issue from the Bipolar illness for which the patient is self medicating with addictive substances ?
