Interesting to note that the article focuses on the confusion between changing genes and changing gene expression - totally different things. I am not very surprised that his cells went on doing rather different things after landing. There seem to have been some epigenetic changes that might be of interest in the ME/CFS context but so often these things are measured on blood cells which may show shifts for secondary epiphenomenal reasons.

Would increased radiation exposure cause some genetic mutations? I’m assuming those would be random, as opposed to epigenetic shifts.
