I'm also confused by that response, as I don't see what it has to do at all with "other charities"? It is more about the entire patient population potentially benefitting from the attention of a high-profile government figure. That comment makes no sense to me at all.
My interpretation is that it's an ME Association vs Invest in ME squabble, I've seen hints of tension between the two organisations for a while, although no idea why that might be the case.

Sure, I grokked that--but it still seems 100% nonsensical to stick with a competitive/divisive construct and refuse to spread the word so that all patients who wish to can sign a Thank You to Jeremy Fricken Corbyn for giving some desperately needed high-profile attention to this disease and its horribly mismanaged public perception. This is one of the biggest moments for ME in UK history. Bigger than Elizabeth Warren here in the US.

It reads to an outsider as totally antithetical to patients' interests and wholly petty/inappropriately political.

But I will stop picking apart their choice, which they are free to make (plus I admire Charles and MEA,) and trust that the word is getting out via many other means.

just sent him an email.if anybody else feels like doing this jeremy.corbyn.mp@parliament.uk eta if I am able to later I may see if I can put a link about the card on some of the leftie sites I sometimes hang around in.

Up to 723 now... that's not actually much of an increase. I wrongly thought it was 620 earlier today. Thanks to all the signatories.

I think we need now to think of ways to get this out to a much wider audience of PWME. Perhaps if people write to the other ME charities with which they have links? Whose blogs have big followings?

Would it be appropriate for those not in the UK to sign this?
I think so. Problems in the UK have ended up causing problems for patients all around the world - sorry about that, we're a sick, sick society!
Yes that's fine, I created it for anyone to sign as it's an international conference, but only as an easy way for people to express their thanks if they wished to, I honestly thought only about 30 people might want to sign it so I'm amazed at the response so far.
704 signatures now including the duplicates and triplicates (etc?).
Doing another glitch check now
