Can't say I'm mega keen on this diagram. Pain sensitisation seems to be a dubious theory to deny a mechanical or molecular process that creates pain.

The issue is in most pain clinics or secondary care there's an immediate leap to pain sensitisation and behavioural techniques, with little investigation.

It's leads to a BPS model that sucks if you have chronic pain as you're essentially told it's your avoidance and attitude and habits that are causing your pain. I've had joints set in sublux and no one would touch them. But I was told that keeping to a routine was an issue.

There's little checking even for EDS and the more life threatening forms. Which is particularly dangerous if a woman and also if pregnancy is on the cards.

That is if you get to secondary care - policy now for EDS is not to refer.
