Pain & CBD (Cannabidiol)?

From the article

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is a chemical extracted from the cannabis plant. Unlike its sibling tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it’s non-psychoactive and won’t get you high.

Why would you take it and what does it do to you?
CBD is thought to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm, with many arguing that it helps to relieve pain and inflammation and reduce anxiety. So far the studies aren’t clear as to whether eating small amounts has any effect or not but, despite this, it’s now a popular alternative for those seeking a remedy for anxiety or pain who don’t want to take a mind-altering drug.

It works wonders for me, in the right dose it can completely kill neurological pain and help with sleep. However, I have only tried it in the form of a CBD rich strain baked into brownies.

CBD oil is illegal in Norway, but I will try to get hold of some from Sweden the next time I'm over the border. A tiny CBD dose was so much more effective than painkillers like ibuprofen (though they work too, in large doses).

My ex financial advisor (late 60's) has been taking prescription CBD and it has completely eliminated his back pain of 15 years. He no longer needs medications. He has figured out his proper dosing (every 4 hrs) and wakes himself up in the night to take his dose and goes back to sleep. In the morning he can walk with no pain. This has been life changing for him.

Well, I've ordered some legal cannabis oil from my regular supplements prescriber - Healthspan:

I only have enough of the 'real' stuff at the moment for using once a week, and I would really like it more often - like most of the time! The positive effects (i.e. loss of muscle fatigue) only last a couple of hours anyway, but I don't know if that's due to my evening small glass of wine.

As you can see, it's cheaper than most British brands, which is common with Healthspan.

I'll report back if there are any positive effects.

CBD doesn't do much, but THC is pretty good at reducing pain levels and stiffness and the only thing that allows me to fall asleep in a reasonable timespan. It's mildly helpful at best, but that's far above any other medication I've tried besides Ativan.

"One option is High Tea at Farmacy, a plant-based restaurant in west London. On the menu are a CBD-infused vodka cocktail, CBD truffles (tahini and dark chocolate, and basmati and coconut) and a pot of hemp leaf tea".

I’ve got some CBD capsules - from a U.K. based online supplier. I use them at night so I can take a regular few night break from low dose melatonin. I take the lowest strength CBD they have and I do find it helps with sleep/ night time pain but obviously it’s not as effective as melatonin with getting off to sleep.

I’ve found a supply of the oil containing THC. I’ve just added back pain to my symptoms so I’ve had a squirt. Will report back later (if capable)
