✉️ Anyone is welcome to sign the open letter. The form is open for 2 weeks & then will be sent to President-Elect Prof Subodh Dave on May 26th. With collective effort we hope for change from the Royal College that will benefit all people with ME & Long Covid.

Public Sign-On: Open Letter to the Royal College of Psychiatrists

Our key concern is the platforming of speakers Paul Garner, Trudie Chalder & Alan Carson at the RPsych International Congress, given their long-standing association with psychiatric-led psychosocial frameworks of ME & now Long Covid.

In that Bluesky thread the Long Covid Advocacy group points to this article (includes a link to an audio version) with more background info:

On a side note, when I tried to look at the Bluesky profile for the Royal College of Psychiatrists ( @rcpsych.bsky.social ) I got this message:

Why not make their account public? Seems a bit strange.

Their website is public: https://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/

PS. It could just be that some folks are not aware of what settings to choose when they create a social media account. I've seen this situation with advocacy groups who did not realize that people could not read their posts if not logged in.
