I’m on there not as NP and not keen on having an active presence. Only went on FB so I can post in our local closed group.@NelliePledge needs a Twitter presence.
People are entitled to follow whoever they want on twitter, either temporarily or permanently. Not sure this really warrants analysis.

I don't understand Twitter. Is not the person being followed automatically informed at the outset? Shouldn't everyone be aware of the fact that they are being followed?
