Fundraising page for Ian Lipkin's ME/CFS Research - Center for Infection and Immunity

Notable that they do not mention any of the clinical treatment trials that Lipkin claimed they were close to when news of the funding pull broke, and that are mentioned several times elsewhere in this text, in their five year plan...

Although perhaps they were thinking they would have strong enough results for pharma sponsored trials?

What they were planning to do before their funding was pulled from under them
What did the Center for Solutions for ME/CFS intend to achieve in the next five years of NIH support?
  • Create an app for patients and their caregivers to track symptoms
  • Identify triggers for exacerbation
  • Identify genetic and epigenetic factors that contribute to vulnerability to ME/CFS after environmental exposures.
  • Leverage the Department of Defense Serum Repository that contains millions of prospectively collected biosamples to identify infectious exposures prior to the onset of ME/CFS that may have led to disease. Our Center is the only organization with access to this unique repository.
The last one sounds interesting. Devil’s in the detail - which isn’t provided - but it would seem a shame to not have a good look at the biosamples

One very generous donor is backing this, giving $450,000. They’ll need a few more like that if the want to reach their 2 million goal though
