Crowdfunding for David Tuller during April 2026

I think the economic problems really are starting to bite hard across the board.

Can't just disrupt critical and finely balanced energy and trading systems to that degree, that quickly, in such an arbitrary and chaotic manner, without serious and sustained consequences. Plus some longer term consequences of the Covid pandemic are probably starting to add up too.

How bad it will get, and for how long, remains to be seen. But the current level of disruption and increased costs is probably locked in for at least several months.

Or given the state of the world, more people can't afford to donate.
I think we're at a low point right now, too. The wave of hope from LC advocacy has collapsed and there doesn't seem to be anything good on the horizon. After years of being vindicated at every turn and seeing it make zero difference, there's a rational morale collapse happening.

I don't see any push for funding overall, not even for research. The community isn't raising any money because there's nowhere to use it. There's very low trust in institutions to use it competently, seeing how about $2B in funding has amounted to absolutely nothing. Well, other than in vindicating everything we've said all along, but seeing it make no difference at all is just too depressing.

I'd say that in terms of social media advocacy and awareness, I've never seen morale and motivation be any lower. There's only a point to fight when it amounts to something, but it's clearly all too easy for the institutions of public health and medicine to just swat it all away. Even as they pay low-effort lip-service to the problem while having zero interest in actually solving it, as the BMA recently did.
