Just wondering, what happens if the goal isn't met? Hopefully we see a last minute increase though.

The latest project update from @dave30th indicates he plans to continue the project even if the full goal is not reached, though on slightly reduced hours if there is any short fall.

However previous rounds have seen a last minute surge in donations, so fingers crossed that it happens again this time.

It reads to me like he’ll keep going at the same pace regardless:

I'm so touched that the crowdfunder has reached 85% of the goal, with 450 donations, even in fhese very difficult times. In the middle of the campaign, it looked like it might fall far shorter than that. I want to make clear I will certainly continue the project at full speed, even if the full goal isn't reached. In that event, my Berkeley position will get reduced to 60% time from the current 70% time and I'll scrounge about for a bit more outside work.

Even though the target is reached, I keep going back to check the total. With some forty minutes left whilst I write this it is still nail biting.

I moved 250 miles away, from the address they had for me.

Worked a treat (in that I have received no more letters from Berkeley since doing so).

I remember your (presumably) previous accommodation sounded very unsuitable in terms of accessibility so hoping the new/newer place is better for you.
