Here is how I’ve managed things so far.
Decluttering : I used my cleaning lady (she’s from an agency that helps people with disabilities) to declutter, throw away and recycle. We put the stuff in her car and the first time I went with her, then she went by herself. It took us about 8-9 hours...
@Trish, thanks ! You’re right about notifications, they can be quite demanding.
Good thing about my moving is it’s only in 2 months, so I have plenty of time to prepare. I’ve already made a list of all notifications and even have 1 done ! I am very relieved I have all this time ahead of me.
I forgot to mention I had a SPECT scan done, which means I had dye sent to my brain. And I had no problems at all. So this should be a non-issue for me. Thanks for bringing it up though ! :-)
@Allele good advice, I’ll plan ahead for food. I have started having my groceries delivered when I’m too tired to go, but it’s still tiring to place the order online.
Better to have something to eat ready. Or maybe I’ll just order pizza to celebrate, even if just by myself !
Thank you ! I’m not taking any chances, I will have movers pack and unpack for me. Then I’ll have friends and family help me with the handy stuff, like installing fixtures.
Update : my house sold in less than a week ! I had multiple offers and sold over the asking price ! I am over the moon. I never expected this.
I’m happy this part is over because having to clean up and go out of your house for every visit is exhausting. I would drive to a desert parking lot...
Thanks for the replies everyone ! @Binkie4 that was very detailed and reassuring, thanks a lot !
I do have generalyzed anxiety so I will need everything explained to me before they start and probably a sedative. When I had my gastric biopsie, when the nurse saw I was getting worried and...
I went to the ER about 3 weeks ago because I felt pinching to the heart, for many seconds to 2-3 minutes or more, for about 12 hours. I waited 16 hours to see the doctor but she was rude to me, she said she had patients waiting dor her that needed urgent care and she didn’t know my illness. I...
My doc sent a request for me to have one and I am scared by this procedure. I’ve looked a little bit online but stopped because it was raising my anxiety too much.
If ypu had one, how does it go ? Does it hurt and can you go home right after ?
Thanks !
I would love to see a mito specialist. But it seems noone is taking me seriously, or just don’t know how to get these tests done for me. I’ll talk to Dr Hyde and see if he can get me an appointment with a good neuro and mito specialist.
I don’t know and I can’t find a good description of the test online. I had one regular MG and the second one, the neuro had me contract my muscles during the test. Both were done in my forearm. I’ll keep in mind that both tests are best. Thanks !
@Diwi9 Thank you. It’s not clear for me if I have ptosis or not. Sometimes I feel like a zombie and my eyes are half shut. It’s always both eyes, not just one eye.
I too have heard it’s not always easy to diagnose, but there is a simple blood test that is pretty accurate. It tests for...
I know muscular weakness is common in ME patients but I sometimes wonder if there isn’t more to mine. I’m wondering if testing for myasthenia gravis should be done. I’ve had 2 negative EMG’s but I know you can still have MG even in that case.
I have moderate ME and it seems to me the muscular...
