Not sure how appropriate my heading is as I'm not feeling very capable...

The BBC radio programme You and Yours today featured a fairly large section on how and why a lot of ME patients get turned down for benefits after being assessed. It was in the first half of the programme.

It can be listened to (from the UK at least) here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09bxk9d and starts at about 0100.

Thanks for posting @MeSci. Not listened yet but we seem to be becoming fashionable/popular as an issue.

So thrilled about Unrest at no1 iTunes.

    Listened to it.
They repeated a bit of the interview with the man with ME (who secretly recorded his assessment),
and then spoke to a mental health nurse who worked as an assessor who told them about the various tricks of the trade they were told to use to speed up assessments, ie getting people to do things like move a chair, read a form etc so they could tick the box.

Not really telling us anything new but good that they are at least talking about it and exposing how it is rigged.

Was there anything related to PACE/White type stuff in there? I've already got a back-log of things to listen to.
