Looks like he’s crediting some type of neuroplasticity… which also just looks like fancy CBTAI bigshot, Deepmind. I talked to him on X about ME/CFS. He gave me his email. I will pitch him Fluge Mella (my fav obviously).
Sorry, I don't understand. Also, do you maybe know how long was Ian ill?AI bigshot, Deepmind. I talked to him on X about ME/CFS. He gave me his email. I will pitch him Fluge Mella (my fav obviously).
I'm not convinced.Applied Determinism is a cognitive practice that teaches practitioners to utilize an understanding of determinism to dismiss the emotions they experience in relation to behavioral agents previously considered to possess free will. Everything you need to get started is here. “The Behavioral Judgment Model of Agential Emotion” introduces and describes those emotions that you will be able to dismiss while the overview deck lays out the practice of Applied Determinism and the logic behind it.
This sounds like an unholy mix of cognitive behavioural therapy and current AI hype keywords. I am/was Silicon Valley adjacent and all anyone talks about now is agent this agential that…Applied Determinism is a cognitive practice that teaches practitioners to utilize an understanding of determinism to dismiss the emotions they experience in relation to behavioral agents previously considered to possess free will …
Thanks for trying, a shame. Survivorship bias can be strong even in the intellectually smart. I often wonder if it’s more prevalent in the successful as they attribute the success directly to their own efforts and discount luck. Good or bad.Well he replied, sadly he believes in brain retraining. So there's that. He did mention this guy called Pieter Abbeel, also in AI. I asked if I could get his contcact.
Agreed. The tech community in Silicon Valley which is almost entirely male has fallen prey to all sorts of crazy ideas in recent years (look up TESCREAL). They are very pro individualism, and self determination, yet they also behave in a cultlike way. They are a closed off culture that idolizes other male techies and AI, and actively exclude women. I’m sure they as a group believe they can engineer their way out of any physical calamity.Survivorship bias can be strong even in the intellectually smart. Reminds me of when I was mild and undiagnosedexcept that KP has a routine sickness every other week)
Yep for quite a few yearsReminds me of when I was mild and undiagnosed
Not sure it has been said here but the Golden State Warriors recently bought/traded for him for a lot of money."Steve Kerr shuts down Kristaps Porzingis rumors about severe chronic illness
The Golden State Warriors head coach addressed reports connecting the veteran big man to postural tachycardia syndrome, or POTS. Kerr stated that the widely circulated diagnosis was incorrect.
Kerr also noted that whatever kept Porzingis sidelined earlier in the season was unrelated to his recent illness. He described the most recent absence as a routine sickness rather than an ongoing medical condition." (except that KP has a routine sickness every other week)
