UK: Groundbreaking £50m MRC [Medical Research Council] centre will overhaul clinical trials

A new initiative aims to accelerate the trial of new medicines for improved patient care.
The Medical Research Council (MRC) Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) in Clinical Trial Innovation in partnership with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) will receive up to £50 million.

The funding will last over 14 years with the ambition of transforming the clinical trial landscape.

The centre plans to shake-up approaches to clinical trial design and delivery by developing pioneering new ways to speed up the process and drive improvements in treatment and recovery.

I'm struggling to read long stuff at the moment but I couldn't see anything in the article that really explained how they were going to do things differently.

It’s just multi-arm trials. Which need more funding upfront because it more cost-intensive to test multiple things at once, even though you save money in total if you were going to test all regardless.
