Interesting tweets about Dr Muirhead's talk - she's a doctor who got ME. Worth a look!

Holgate says the CMRC Patient Advisory Group is recruiting new members now. He says details to follow.

Slightly unfortunate timing, what with the NICE Guideline Committee recruiting lay members as well at the moment.

Dr Moreau's presentation on microRNAs sounds very interesting - looking forward to seeing it on YouTube. :)

The lay members have been selected now. It's at the reference checks stage.

Do you know when their names will be released? Can’t help thinking these will be a very important group.

Any chance of posting them for those of us who don’t tweet?

ETA: Action for ME have posted some. If you scroll down a fair way, dr Muirhead’s are there. She wants a postgraduate certificate in ME/cfs.

Revolution is the key word and so far my main criticism of both U.K. and USA has been the wish by the establishment to slowly evolve. That’s not enough, there’s been years, p‍** about. The CMRC should have had an agressive, entirely pro biomedical research emphasis from onset, with no Esther Crawley PACE AND GET are great stuff at the top. Holgate, broad tent champion and wessely supporter, was the man behind it all here and I’d say in America Collins too is too keen to slowly let it evolve rather than do what’s needed pronto which is clear message that it’s biological, complex , Serious and a pot of funds to stimulate research.

Was it publicised at all? Do you know who selected them. When it was for MEGA we all knew about it and could apply - I did but then withdrew.

It was advertised in June. Applications closed in July. Several on here applied.

I believe that those who have been turned down heard on Monday.

Thanks. I've obviously forgotten. No harm done, I'm too ill to to it anyway.

My, unexpressed, point was that some who might have applied for the CMRC position may not now due to being selected for the NICE Guideline position.

I think there may be some confusion here. The CMRC are only just telling us details coming soon, so the ones already done may be for the NICE reps.

Yes. But given that the application process is now over, those same people might be able to recycle their last application for CMRC. At least, that's how I'd do it.
