TheWEL courses - David Reilly

I believe the plan is to actually provide courses, rather than have people watch videos.
That actually makes it worse. More expensive. Bigger waste of money.
Yes, indeed. After watching those videos, and even though I could see the techniques Reilly used, I have felt quite demoralised ( a niggling feeling of 'maybe I could try harder to be well?' even though I know I could not have, and also feeling sad that people who are supposed to be helping can't see this stuff for what it is).
Yes, it's hard. Every time I read another general article about the evils of sedentarism or the wondrous benefits of exercise I have to do a quick mental recalibration à la "Reminder to self: does not apply to ME, does not apply to me, does not apply to ME, does not apply to me,..."

You also make another important point. Unless they're going to run a separate and different course for each chronic illness, which is unlikely, there's going to be a mish-mash of advice including increasing exercise - and we all know how much increasing exercise "helps" in ME... And it's probably likely many of the proposed course participants would be in an early stage of their illness so not necessarily well-informed about the risks yet.
It may be that someone further up in the organisation will think harder before approving funding courses for patients.
Let's hope so. If not, do you have any avenues you or others could pursue to open their eyes?

Reilly had CFS for a few years
What kind of CFS. All sorts of things are called CFS.

I am assured that the course will aim to 'help people cope' rather than cure them.
Why don't they want to cure people?

I call TRIPE.
Are you allowed to call TRIPE? I thought that was arewenearlythereyet's provenance.

Here are some extracts for anyone that doesn't want to waste time on the website:
I definitely do not want to waste time on that drivel! :banghead:

The healing shift. Think we’ve spotted another typo
Yes, there is no 'f' in s##t.

After having got everyone saying that they can't draw (even a person who initially said that they could)
How absurd!
