Thank-you to the friend of someone with chronic illness

Dear friend,

This year, as you know, I have spent a lot of time with my fellow spoonies in an attempt to feel less alone in dealing with my daily struggles. However, this holiday season I want to turn my attention to you, my friend, and tell you the things I don’t get to, or don’t know how to say during the year.

I want to start by saying: thank you. Thank you for standing by me during another year with quite a number of lows, during the bad days and flares, during my lasting sadness and pain. Thank you for listening when I rambled. Thank you for understanding when I went quiet for a while. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for appreciating me. Thank you for being a true friend.

Healthy friends hooked me up with a new monitor (old one broke) and phone (old one about to break) they had lying around and organized a get together for New Year's Eve where I don't have to do anything at all and everything including a special meal for me (since I can't eat many foods anymore) will be taken care of for I-dont-even-know-how-many-years-running. Shoutout to all the amazing HealthyFriends out there!
