Spontaneous, persistent, T cell–dependent IFN-γ release in patients who progress to Long Covid, 2024, Krishna et al

I think it is very interesting that this molecule has – among others – an important role in controlling herpes.

I am going to see an infectiologist soon to find out what's going on when I have ME flares because I can fight them with a herpes drug. I will take Jacqueline Cliffs work on HHV-6b with me to inspire them where to look for answers.

I have understood that folks on this forum find herpes theories not very interesting. I'd still be interested whether we have more research that establishes direct links to a possible role of herpes virus at the center of ME/CFS like the one discussed here.
I find this interesting as my daughter (pwME/CFS) and myself (pwLC with pem) have both definitely had primary varicella twice. And a "full" first primary infection too not mild. My other daughter has shingles as teen. I've wondered if we had a genetic susceptibility to Varicella Herpes Zoster. Two out of the 3 of us also have ME/CFS type illness. I wonder if there's a connection.

First time contribution to a thread so please be gentle!
