Just chipping in that I also initially thought it was a blog denying ME/CFS is real. Especially since the first post I saw was about whether POTS diagnosis makes sense. But I've come to like the name. Yeah people might get the same first impression, but if other people they trust are sharing your posts, they'll be inclined to see what the deal is. (Probably why I initially read it.)

I like what someone said about taking back the meaning of skeptic.

But I get if you want to change it. Might be more readership. One I think might be nice that someone suggested was ME/CFS Analytica. Maybe ME/CFS Analytically.

Edit: maybe these

'The ME/CFS Science Examiner'?
ExamineME
I like these.

Examine can be ambiguous, implying in adjudication too much, but in the sense of a medical examination of a patient, that seems exactly right. A careful inspection of what is there, followed by drawing of conclusions based on what is found.

adding these, which I think are similar

Oh yeah maybe something following the trend of putting ME at the end of a word, like SolveME, CureME, DecodeME, SequenceME.

I think it should imply somebody outside the tent - and a bit edgy.
I quite like ME/CFS scrutiniser.
I think that captures the essence of the blog.

It's the sense of someone looking with fresh eyes, combined with astonishing rigour. I would also use the word clarity to describe it: the authors' clarity of thought and the clarity that leaves in the reader's mind. "Oh, that's what going on here.”

"Bringing clarity to ME/CFS research findings"
would be a good tagline in some ways, though it would probably raise a lot of hackles.

I like ME/CFS Scrutinizer the most of the alternatives so far.

I agree with others that 'ME/CFS Science' is too generic and neutral. I could easily skip over that. That’s why Skeptic was good- it definitely caught my eye and made me stop for a second to think.

Scrutinizer gets my attention and describes thoughtful examination of the research that your blog provides, and it avoids the connotation of disbelieving ME.

I agree scrutiniser / scrutineer are good.

I still like Marc's idea of spelling it with a K to keep the relationship with the previous name, though it might not make sense to new visitors who weren't familiar with the old one. Unless of course you're going to keep that on the page header, to make it clear it's the same blog.

I wouldn't go for spellings that don't exist, especially given that non-native-English speakers will be trying to make sense of it.

If you have time best give yourselves plenty of time to percolate the right name

Audit nice, can the blog do other audits or only research audits, it would be so good to have some thorough specific authoritative reviews of other things going on in the field, or maybe invite more articles and papers on field-matters then review them

It's the /CFS bit that makes it hard. I'm not suggesting it should be dropped from the condition name, of course, just that it makes titles clumsy.

I can't help thinking of names in the DecodeME format – CritiqueME, AnalyseME, ExamineME – but they don't work nearly as well with /CFS added.
I don't think having only ME in the name is a problem as long as ME/CFS is used in the tagline and consistently throughout the blog (as is the case)
