Another big wave of Covid.
So are we still playing survival of the fittest?
Or have we actually just given up protecting ourselves, including our children.
A child born today can expect 12 Covid infections by the end of primary school if infected once yearly.
Survival of the fittest won’t work. For that to work the fittest survive and pass on their ‘strong’ genes. Young people mostly don’t die from Covid so all those genes are still being passed on.
What about the ‘herd immunity’ game? Nope not working either given the rate of reinfections. The virus mutates quickly and immunity wears off. Vaccines don’t appear to prevent infection. Hardly anyone wears a mask.
The herd is not immune.
But we CoUldn’t have seen it coming .

We listened to people like this in 2022 who reckoned it would only take a couple of covid infections to make it similar to the other coronaviruses ( colds).
This didn’t age well
How many Millenia to make it a cold?
And this one who reckoned that getting flu in winter could reduce the chance of Covid infection.
Instead we just get both.

And all the people who signed the great Barrington declaration were wrong too.
Who wasn’t wrong?
Jessica Wildfire. She was dead right from the start.
‘We’re making a mistake that is going to haunt us forever
We are sacrificing several generations in the hope that Covid stops infecting people over and over. In the hope that we are the unicorns with magical immunity.
Hopium.
That does not seem a good basis on which to make public health decisions.
Most people do not seem aware that whilst having the time of their lives just now, they are potentially sacrificing their entire future Health/life
Jessica wildfire is right- most people are spoiled and expect to get everything fixed right now with a click of their fingers. That’s what they are used to.
Post viral illnesses don’t work like that. Ask anyone with ME.
At what point will everyone wake up and realise their kids being infected with a novel virus once, twice, three times a year is a disaster. Not only can it lead to future health problems, it can lead to immediate long Covid.
Literally you could be fine this week. Get Covid next week.&have long Covid the next week. Just a role of the dice
We have another big wave of covid. I’m guessing 4th wave this year. Since we seem to get 5 waves a year consistently.
Like a twisted game of jump the waves.
People CELEBRATED the omicron variant. It’s mild!
Before we even had any data the media had declared it mild.
My heart sank.
Omicron is a disaster in its own way.
Something that doesn’t kill but mutates rapidly& reinfects is not a celebration.
You’d think there would be tonnes of research right now into how many infections we are getting and how often?
Nope.
Hopium.
Most people do not have a clue how many times they have been infected with Covid. You don’t need symptoms to be infected.
Symptoms are similar to flu which is handy for all those living in the Land of Hopium.
Like 3 flu infections a year would ever be good anyway.
I had flu once in my life.
I have just had another Covid infection. I watched my son in a and e resus and suffer from Covid for the 6th time. He’s not even a teenager.
He’s still sick. He couldn’t go on holiday. He should be by the beach just now.
This is not a normal life. I’ve heard people say having just had Covid ‘at least I won’t have to worry about it for a few months’
A few MONTHS.
At what point in this pandemic did anyone announce we could be infected every few months?
Never. They instead had ‘freedom day’
We will only be ‘free’ when we realise we are beaten by this virus and start doing something about it.
If not for our generation but for the kids who have 8 decades on average to live in a body that could be broken, well, by the time they are 8.
