San Francisco Chronicle said:
Here are some key takeaways from the survey, conducted in February with more than 10,000 adults:
  • Vaccine indifference up: Only 28% of U.S. adults have received the updated COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for severe illness protection, a considerable decrease from the 69% fully vaccinated by August 2021.
  • Political divide narrows: The partisan gap in whether Democrats and Republicans view COVID-19 as a significant threat has decreased from a 37-point gap in May 2022 to a 16 points now.
  • Long COVID awareness decreases: Approximately 21% of respondents believe it’s somewhat important for the medical field to address long COVID, while 6% say it is not very important or not at all important. A surprising 22% indicated they had never heard of long COVID. [<-- my bolding]
  • Economic concerns diminishing: Concerns about the virus being a significant threat to the U.S. economy have significantly decreased, with only 23% considering it a major threat currently, compared to 88% in May 2020.
  • Fear is fading: About 27% of Americans express some level of concern about contracting a severe case of COVID-19 that would necessitate hospitalization, while a slightly larger group, 40%, are worried about unknowingly spreading the virus to others.

The Pandemic That Never Left- Heart FAILURE. Although the mortality related to COVID-19 has eased significantly from 2021 highs, COVID-19-related mortality was LOWER than Heart Failure-related mortality both at its peak and throughout the pandemic.
