I look forward to a day when a high profile clinical trial with substantial funding is biomedical.

When I read of trials such as FITNET and SMILE (can you actually believe that was taken seriously) and (the famous) PACE trial I have a feeling that I’m in a very bad dream, or in a parallel universe of bizarre concepts.

I don’t understand how the SMILE trial got up and running....it honestly is unbelievable.

Sigh! We have such a long way to go in getting this sort of junk junked.

This is a high profile national NIHR-funded clinical trial

It occurs to me that our focus on funding for ME trials has been on trying to get the MRC to see the importance of funding biomedical research and stopping BPS research.

And all the time the NIHR is spending millions on Crawley's and others' junk trials. Is there any way the NIHR can be alerted to the awful way they are wasting their money?
@Jonathan Edwards, do you know how this works?

That’s an idea. Surely by now funding bodies must realise it’d make more sense to fund biomedical (substantially) research. Why keep throwing money away with BPS research.

Don't worry Trish, we are on to the case. We might use that double Limerick even.

NIHR is entirely populated by politicos who buy in to hypocrisy so you do not 'alert them' to anything. It would be a bit like alerting Mr Trump to Mr Putin's intentions.

The corner has been turned. It will take a while to flush through but there is no place for BPS to hide now.

Glad to hear.

Flush through....what an appropriate phrase!

Keep flushing and BPS will go down the pipe. Love that thought.
