I've been asked to give a presentation in my professional capacity as a Counselling Psychologist on Saturday 23rd June in Manchester to trainee Counselling Psychologists - 'A critical approach to Medically Unexplained Symptoms’
It's been grim reading over this stuff... However, it'll be good to get a lively debate going Wish me luck.
I'll try and pop back and comment on how it went.

That sounds like an interesting opportunity, Joan. I like to think that if psychologists were taught more about what we don't know than what some people think we do know the future might be rosier. I do a lot of psychologist bashing but I am aware that some psychologists provide a vital lifeline.

Would it be possible to share your presentation?

There is a MUS movement in Canada spearheaded by the Medical Psychiatric Alliance that has $60 million in funding, so any material that can help us would be appreciated.

I'd also be interested to see slides or any materials - just out of curiosity.

    Hope it goes well!

All the best, Joan, and thanks for wading through that soul destroying nightmare.

They have their place. I just wish they knew what it was and stuck to it.

    As does the clergy.

At least the clergy is informed it needs to stay at arm's length from all things state-related.
