Key messages for primary care on the diagnosis and management of ME/CFS

Dr Charles Shepherd, Dr Nigel Speight and Dr Gregor Purdie will be presenting at this important GP conference in October. Dr Shepherd and members of Forward ME will also be hosting a stand at the event, and have produced a review article for 'GP Frontline' magazine.

'ME/CFS affects around 250,000 people in the UK, and in children and adolescents it is the commonest cause of long-term sickness absence from school. The session will cover early and accurate diagnosis, differential diagnosis and investigations, and key aspects of management including activity management, symptom relief, severe ME/CFS, diet and nutrition.'

Good to see MEA and AFME having a united front to GPs. Hope this is the start of a more widespread education campaign.

The article for the magazine is even more important than a workshop which will have limited attendance. This looks like a very good move by the ME organisations.
