    To put it into perspective, the U.S population is over 331 million.

    Yes, but looking at deaths per 100,000 the USA comes third in the world after Peru and Brazil. The UK comes seventh, so we didn't do much better.

    USA = 311.83 deaths per 100,000
    UK = 270.18 deaths per 100,000
