Keystone symposium Long COVID and Other Post-Acute Infection Syndromes August 10-13 2025

Does anyone know what happened to Altmann's WILCO study?
The Adult WILCO consort diagram he showed at this conference had second visit bloods between Jan-Dec 2024, so I wouldn't expect publication before 2026. I can't recall any comment on if there would be a preprint.

I think Stimulate-ICP is due to be presented in November in Boston.

Did he present any interesting data or was it just about the study structure etc?

These studies have taken their time, thats for sure.

He mostly talked about symptoms and their duration, significance, economic effect etc. Immune subset difference were very nuanced. He highlighted evidence of autoimmunity but didn't go in depth, describing clusters of patients with AAbs to elements of the proteome, including intracellular and mitochondrial targets.

"When we look at those, we do see clusters of auto-antibody specificities coming up together in a proportion of our patients. They're sometimes extracellular targets, often intracellular targets. Some of our referees have given us a hard time about that. So how can an antigen possibly be involved in an autoimmune disease if it's intracellular? Um, they're going to be horrified when they learn about diseases like lupus and Sjogren's and myositis and the targets in those."
