For anyone interested this starts at about 2 and 1/2 hours from now (at the time I posted)

"On Friday, March 27, 12:30–1:15 pm ET, join experts from Johns Hopkins for a discussion about how and why countries’ responses to COVID-19 have been so varied, what some of the effects have been, and what lessons governments can learn as they think about preparing for future challenges."

Thanks for posting this. It was pretty interesting. The recording will be posted later(not clear on when that is).

Interesting, John Hopkins ran a pandemic training event in October 2019 to discuss planning for such a scenario.

Selected moments from the Event 201 pandemic tabletop exercise hosted by The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated the pandemic preparedness efforts needed to diminish the large-scale economic and societal consequences of a severe pandemic. Drawing from actual events, Event 201 identifies important policy issues and preparedness challenges that could be solved with sufficient political will and attention. These issues were designed in a narrative to engage and educate the participants and the audience. For more information, visit: http://www.centerforhealthsecurity.or...

MEDICAL & BIOTECH

The technology embeds immunization records into a child’s skin.............
The work was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and came about because of a direct request from Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates himself, who has been supporting efforts to wipe out diseases such as polio and measles across the world, Jaklenec says. “If we don’t have good data, it’s really difficult to eradicate disease,” she says......

Thank Goodness for the work of philanthropists like Bill Gates and things like his pandemic work. The John Hopkins work wouldn't be possible without people like him.

Bill saw this pandemic coming and is on record saying so.

This is central its so poignant that John Hopkins is addressing this issue in conjunction with people like Bill Gates.

Firstly in such a global world we still have the issue of decentralised decisions being made on a world level.

Perhaps we need the UN for example to take more control in a new type of world order.

Take for example Bill Gates tracking vaccines in Africa discussed above whereby the vaccine record is injected directly into children.....

Now we are in lockdown but don't have enough man power to enforce it so when this happens again with another crisis the things we need are to finalise the combination of our existing technologies.

Drone cameras, location tracking on every phone, more smart technology that can track purchases to stop hording and ensure centralised control of goods, face recognition technology combined with drones.

We maybe could move the next step and get microchipped so we don't have to carry a phone.

Also then we wont need cash or credit cards and the chip will recognize who has bought what, when they did it when they went out and how far from their home they travelled.

This technology could also send automated fines to people who ignore lockdowns or curfews and do the job the police cant possibly do.

The chip could also ensure than any medical treatment that gets mandated can be checked on the spot or even from the sky by drones and whether the person has had the antibody test or not.

There have been some small trials of people having chip implants but nowhere near enough people have signed up to help manage a crisis on the level John Hopkins are trying to learn lessons from.

We would need a massive capacity Wifi infrastructure world wide to achieve all this but it seems we are on the verge of achieving that also because of mans amazing endeavours.

Its amazing how it took a crisis like this to see the potential of something we already have at out fingertips.

Maybe we as a forum could put together some more ideas and forward them to John Hopkins?
