My body seems to always get really hot around midnight, the time when I would generally like to go to sleep if I could. It feels similar to a fever during an infection and it happens every night. It always keeps prevents me sleeping and I think this is partly responsible for why I can't get to sleep until 4am - 6am. Even on a cold winter's day and I have the window open I still find I am really hot. I don't experience sweating much really, I just feel hot.
After sleeping I often feel much more normal and being in bed is comfortable - there's a clear pattern - which makes me think this is hypothalamus/out of sync circadian rhythm related. I don't get the switching between hot and cold/shivering you often get with an infection - it's always just the hotness.
Is this common in MECFS? Is there something specific causing this that I can ask my doctor about? I often read people with MECFS talking about feeling cold and needing thick duvets/weighted blankets which makes me wonder why I am the opposite.
Is there potentially something that is unrelated to MECFS going on?
