I wonder if the fall in life expectancy for women is due to having to work to the age of 66 (from 60)?
An extra 6 years of having to work during the least healthy years of a persons working life.

The increase in pension age has been stepped and is fairly recent - it went from 60 to 63 in 2016 and to 65 in 2018, and has equalised with men at 66 this last year, these changes are probably too recent to have had a major impact, also employment status has a complex interaction with health depending on occupation and social-economic status.

The two big lifestyle impacts are historic tobacco use and obesity - women entering their sixties now were in their teens and early twenties before the historic highs of female smokers began to fall in the mid 1970s. The more immediate impact though is overweight and obesity which has increased to epidemic levels: How has the proportion of adults who are overweight and obese changed over time?
with women overtaking men in the obese rather than just overweight category in the last decade: https://digital.nhs.uk/data-and-inf...ty-and-diet-england-2019/part-3-adult-obesity
