Gary Burgess - The ME show, and updates about Gary's health.

It’s one of my favourite phrases from the world’s greatest TV show, The West Wing: “What’s next?”

In other words, once something is dealt with, move on to the next thing.

My awesome friend Katie bought me a cap emblazoned with that phrase a few months ago and I pledged to myself to wear it as soon as I got the results of the scan after my chemotherapy.

Today I am wearing that cap for the first time.

Yesterday I was in Southampton for a CT scan and then an appointment with my oncologist to find out if my chemo had done its job.

I’m so sorry to hear this devastating news. Gary - if you’re reading this - I have to say that I think you are a very special and courageous person. I wish you all the love and strength you need at this most difficult time. Your friends in the ME community are right there behind you.

Gary, if you see this I would like you to know that you are such an amazing person. The energy and commitment you have put in to both M.E. and serving the people of the Channel Islands whilst also dealing with this terrible diagnosis is truly admirable. You are a brilliant writer and presenter who combines dogged determination with excellent people skills. Your news is so very sad and I hope you get to go on your cruise somehow. I am so very sorry and the world will be a lesser place without you. Thank you so much for everything you have done for us. ❤️
