Pedro Almodovar's new film, Pain and Glory, is semi-autobiographical. I was interested in what he's said in interviews because he suffers from migraines and photofobia, back pain, tinnitus, among other maladies, and severely. There may be other illnesses as well.

He said recently that he finds socializing exhausting.

“People have stopped surprising me so much, they’ve stopped exciting me as much. And secondly, there’s the pain.” He paused. “Pain is not something you can share with other people.”

    I resonate with those sentiments.

That's really interesting: I didn't know he was a chronic pain sufferer. I can certainly relate to finding socialising exhausting- not that I do it now.
I do try to 'share' the pain with others- I don't hesitate to tell folk when the pain is bad, and I take medications in front of friends if I need to. I try to educate people, as before having chronic pain I didn't really know what that was!

,Migraines are a particular kind of hell that you can't really explain to someone who has never had one.
