My WBC was sky high when I had reactivation of EBV and HHV6 from taking immune modulators

Did they prescribe antivirals?

My doctor didn't know what to do, and the virologist told me to stop taking the immune modulator.

Looks like @Jonathan Edwards says that it may not mean much?

That was what my mum said and she ran the central EBV service for UK.
I doubt much has changed since then.
