    Graded exposure therapy isn’t that a Freudian slip just letting out that they really do think it’s some kind of mental block like fear of flying or spiders that can be treated by gradual exposure.

    I don't think it's a slip. I think it's deliberate - they think we have a phobia of exercise, so need the same sort of therapy as for phobias of gradual exposure to the thing we fear.
