Doctors Test the Limits of What Obesity Drugs Can Fix

From the article :

Dr. Gordon Guyatt, a clinical trials expert at McMaster University in Ontario, said that the prudent approach is to use drugs — often inexpensive generics — that have been well tested and shown to treat conditions that often accompany obesity, like high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, arthritis and sleep apnea.

Obesity drugs, he said, are to treat obesity.

This sounds as if the doctor is keen to protect Pharma company profits, rather than help patients to feel better.

How many people, fat or otherwise, who develop high blood pressure (for example), ever find a way of reducing it permanently and coming off their drugs for high BP? The same comments apply to the other health conditions mentioned in the same paragraph.
