Do you use a hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard?

I don't use it myself. I object on the grounds that I shouldn't need to publicly label myself as vulnerable to obtain courtesies and assistances I'm already legally entitled to, any more than a mentally ill relative should need to wear a hat saying "Nutter".

But that's an individual political decision, and of course I wouldn't argue against other people using it.

I have one; I don't use it much because I can only leave the house with a helper. I have worn it on a couple of visits to hospital (no one commented on it). I can imagine it might be useful in certain emergency situations if I wasn't able to speak.

One of those things I'd rather have and not need than need and not have!

We use it for assistance at the airport discreetly on our cabin bag. It helps with customs and the scanner search process expecially when brain fogged out. They are just that bit more understanding . Never made the slightest difference elsewhere.

I don’t as I can’t get out anymore. But probably would if I could. The difference in people’s responses to someone who looks young and healthy but isn’t and someone who is older and looks frail but is fine is telling. People aren’t uncaring, I think, they just don’t know. How much the symbol is recognised I don’t know but I’d give it a try.

Very little difference in my day to day outside activities even when displayed prominently.

I don't go out very much but none of my local shops (even branches of larger chains) or transport providers treat me any differently.

It has some use at some airports but it isn't predictable even at UK ones. I am in a wheelchair at the airport usually though. If I am ambulatory (rare) I have used to to go through the disabled area of check-in or security but showing them my walking stick usually works anyway.
