Cortisol and catecholamines tests - low cortisol / addisons?

Hi @Arnie Pye Level was 308 which was normal. But on the NHS nice website you linked above.. it says level between 100 and 400 you still should be referred to endocrinologist for further testing.

My hospital website has a page for each yest and how to use the result. It says for this test 300 and above *and no systemic illness* means no need to test further. It doesn't say what the threshold is if you have "systemic illness".

.

What happened? Had a 309 cortisol result and negotiated with the endocrinologist to get an SST which is planned for a few weeks time.

I didn’t follow up on this as I had a lot of other things going on medically around this time / just after this, sorry. And I haven’t followed up on it since, as I actually forgot about it until you tagged me!

that is interesting that it notes that, as battling an illness would mean that theoretically your body might be throwing eg maximum cortisol at it. So instead of it being a 9am basal cortisol, it is 'peak' potentially / the way to see if there is a difference between the two is synacthen?
