Long COVID: support for doctors

We are hugely concerned about the welfare of doctors and healthcare workers with long COVID. Many doctors and other health care professionals have been impacted by long COVID and need better support, including when they are unable to work due to their condition.

Healthcare workers have been particularly impacted by COVID-19 and report higher levels of long COVID than the general population.

We are working to improve the support for doctors suffering with long COVID.

I don't think this has been posted yet. It's been a while since something has made me so incandescent with rage, and I barely skimmed it. The hubris and hypocrisy of these people, the lies and the bullshit, holy hell. They got everything they wanted, which they forced on everyone even though it was clearly wrong, and everyone is to blame but them.

The institutions of medicine continue to be the biggest roadblock to doing anything. And here they are presenting themselves as concerned, and badly at that. They want to carve out exceptions for health care professionals only, while they know that no one is getting help, in large part because of their opposition.

They speak of making LC an occupational illness for health care professionals only, which they cannot possibly not know are not the only profession with occupational exposure, a fact that is largely a result of the "infect everyone, as much as possible, as many times as possible" strategy. Everyone is exposed, and health care professionals are no more susceptible to LC than anyone else, mostly because to them.

The lies piled up in this document are an affront to expertise, to science and reason. They present it almost as if they are the only ones concerned with this, even as they have always been and continue to be the main obstacles in the way. They completely cover up what happened, how the entire thing has only been talked about in the first place because patients banded together to not allow it to be memory-holed. Which happened anyway, the medical profession and its institutions made sure of that.

Every single problem they cite here they were warned about, and have refused to even consider. Then they did nothing about it, and they continue to block everything. They are proving here that they only think of themselves, and by that I mean the association itself, not just the professionals. They are showing contempt for their own duties, while completely ignoring the problem as a whole.

Twitter is a testiment to the way in which the NHS has been solving the Long Covid crisis in its staff, its been firing them. The BMA has done nothing of note to defend its staff from repeated Covid infections nor to fight for those that have been removed after they lost their ability to do their job or those suffering from Long Covid and just about hanging on. Its year 7 and they still haven't done anything of actual practical help.
