BBC website Motor Neurone Disease link to cholesterol

    I saw this yesterday. It's interesting, but the headline's oddly misleading – it suggests the research is mostly about the most devastating form of the disease, when in reality it's more about the hereditary spastic paraplegias. It also reads as if high blood cholesterol could cause the disease, when they're talking about a subcellular pathway.

    The title would be more accurate if it said, Motor neurone diseases 'linked to cholesterol imbalance'. I do wish the BBC would make better use of sub-editors – this is exactly the sort of thing that starts nonsense circulating on social media! :rolleyes:
